Mechanical properties differences between GFRP and Steel, such as lower modulus of elasticity of GFRP and shear strength, limited maximum sustained shear stress, must be considered in designing. In some cases steel rebars cannot be substituted by FRP. Applicable UAE guidelines shall be followed during designing of FRP-reinforced concrete structures.
Currently approved uses by Dubai Municipality - Slab on Grade, Floors of Ground, Water Mitigation Channels, Culverts, Artificial Lakes, Pools.
